Yeah, Menard's is a Midwest thing. I've never heard of them until this thread.

We have Lowe's and Home Depot for big boxes out here.

Lowe's is cool if one's close and convienient, but I still prefer the little guys. Better service, every time.

They sponsor a nascar. It was kinda the first big box we got around here. Home depot is right across the steet. I always try to support the independent.

When I built my 36x60x12 pole barn 6 years ago, with 6x6 poles, steel siding, shingle roof, 2 10x10 overheads, I paid 12,000 for materials minus concrete wich as I remember was about 3000 including labor. If I were to do it again, I would go to 16' tall so I could do a loft and still have 8' above and below. Not that much extra to go higher compared to wider or longer.

Yup. Plus, I think a loft would be really cool.

I want tall sidewalls so my one son can play basketball in it. And then a loft over part of it so I can put wrestling mats up there for my other son.
