Thanks Josh! It's starting to come apart now, so the sooner the better. Should be gone by the end of the week.

Hockeyman, I haven't added up the hours on the project yet. I plan to do so. We've worked on it probably an average of 3 full days a week on everything for the entire time it's been here. Of course there would be some weeks where we topped 40-50 hours, but some we might not have touched it at all.

Thanks for the compliments and comments guys!

Sheesh that is a long time. So does the truck belong to the shop now or is still going to be a show vehicle for Kinetic? Sorry if I missed that fact being mentioned in this long thread.

--------------------------------------------

Neither. The truck is and always has been owned by a local customer. We've worked hand-n-hand with the customer throughout the entire build to come up with ideas and designs to push the envelope and bring the truck to the next level where it would be respected amongst an older crowd of hot rod or muscle car enthusiasts. The first time it went to SEMA it was for Kinetik and was in their booth. This year it is going to SEMA with AccuAir.

Them rockers are a bad ass addition to the build. My question is will the truck now lay on the built rockers or will it still have room to breath underneath?

It's off to the paint shop today to get stripped down, skimmed and blocked, and re-shot in black with the small accent stripe!

A couple small last minute touches. We finished up the rear door panels and built a piece of grained plastic that fits perfect and screws in from the back. All we have to do is die it to match the color of the door panels.

We also re-made the gas filler piece inside. We debated moving the filler somewhere else, but since it's an SUV I didn't want to put it inside and that didn't leave many other options. The gas door fits awesome and there's no dimple to put your finger so it fits nice and flush so I just re-made the inside piece to accept a different angle to keep a downhill flow the whole way through the tube.

Got it on the ground with the stock wheels. All the effort in the rocker kind of disappears, but oh well, I know it's down there!

That's it for a while until its all back and black again...

And if you haven't yet, head on over and "like" our fan page on Facebook to see what other project's we're working on!

Sorry I missed your question. Yea, there is room to breathe underneath. I wanted to make sure in case the ground wasn't perfectly level that it wouldn't crush the rocker. The frame is about 1/4 inch further down then the rocker to give it some protection.

Holy-unreal-ness. Thats a word. It only applies to this build.

Simply amazing. That rocker panel is by far one of the finest attentions to detail that i have ever seen.
