Best way is to take your cowl and fiberglass it to the aluminum hood. Only way I really know of.

just build your scoop out of alluminum it is very easily shaped and any decent fabricator should be able to tig or oxy-weld that in for you w/o issues.

we were just dicussing this at work. fuzor has a panel bond you can use, BUT, you cannot have the aluminum and steel touching eachother or one will corrode the other. it ended up just being too much of a pain in the ass to attempt, and as for how long it will last, is not known. yes, we all had stories of "doing it" but haha u just never happened to see that vehicle again...

there was a glue at sema a few years ago that I saw on tv... the stuff was awsome! they were bonding rubber to glass and glued pretty much anything you could think of together they said it bonded things together way stronger than a weld maybe if you could find there site you could email and ask if it would work for your app.

I think if you use panel bonding adhesive and the steel piece has some type of flanges where you are bonding it, it will work. Then you can use glass to smooth out the edges, then finish off with filler. Im saying to use the glass because it think it will resist flexing and cracking alot better then just using filler. As long as the aluminum and steel have a layer of adhesive between them and are not touching you shouldnt end up with any "Galvanic corrosion".

if there is lip on the cowl why not cut the hood and load it from underneath and epoxy in place then do the body work on top to blend it in????i dunno just a suggestion im not a bodyman and only know enough to get myself into trouble....or just buy a cowl hood...
