its the same thing mine did when i bought it. i limped it home. why dont you put a webber carb on it? im sure they make an adapter for it. or if its the same base stock vs stock as the 20/22R's then just make an early kit (mechanical bar throttle linkage, not cable) work on there. they are pretty simple.
the motor in that should be an 18r.
one of mine has the same dent in the door, i think its from opening it too far.
i have two of those trucks and might be able to sell you some parts. the only thing i used off mine was the body.

yeah. webber has a different pattern than the holleys or the asias.
