i may have screwed up

i tinted my girls taillights today with some stuff that i got from a model shop. it worked great, can still see the lights and everything, but i did 2 coats tint, 1 clear, 1 tint, 1 clear. just using spray can stuff on this fyi. i noticed a few runs. will i be able to wet sand them out? also i want them to shine, and i know i need to use like 2000 grit sand paper, but what after that? just wet sand, wax, and buff? what do you think?

ive never buffed rattle can clear but if you have enough on there you should be able to wet sand your runs out but usually 2000 wont get out runs youll probably have to go 1000, 1500, then 2000 the lightly buff it. probably your best bet on something that small would be just to wet sand it with like 600 to knock the runs off and clear it again. oh and fyi if you have a paint gun all you need to do to smoke lights is just mix up some clear and tint it with a little black paint or candy, prep the lights and spray em with the tinted clear. its much better and easier than buying crap you dont need!

1000 grit is way to much it will go through

Just tint some regular clear then spray as many coats on as necessary to get the desired tint level.

yeah i dont have a spray gun or compressor, just a little project for my girlfriend. anywho so bobby you say 1000 is too much, what do you think i should start with? im going to buy some 2000 when i get off of work, or 1500 which ever i can find, and ill give it a try when i wake up.

wet sand the problem spots then add another layer of clear

ok ill try that with some 1500 and see what happens, also after i spray the clear after sanding out the problem spots, how do i get the shine? just wax and buff?

one other option is that if it is realy thin you could sand it all of and start over, just one idea, and it might be easier to make it look even depending where your runs are at
