what did they do different to the bottom of the bed to make it match the bottom of the cab. or is just a different year

There was a guy that has one by where I used to work, a 78 extended cab bulletside. I tried for a year to get him to sell that thing, even offered to buy him a shed to use for storage instead of the bed with camper shell.
