Alright I am looking to buy some wheels and tires for the toyota and need some info. I have found ome 17x8's with 5 inch backspace....thinking it's not enough. Also, while I am looking online still, can I search for tacoma wheels for fitment, or am I needing to search for an earlier year? Most sites do not bring anything up at all for an 85 toyota. Were the hubs/greasecaps the same through out the years? If so, what years were they the same/different?

Search by offset or backspacing. Don't search by make. Most of the wheels that fit are made for cars. The majority of wheels offered on sites for these trucks won't tuck because they are truck wheels.

also, how low it sits and 2wd or 4wd fenders will make a difference.

yes and no.. it depends.. like the centerline site has wheels for tacoma's up to 18x8 that tuck, on a taco.. not sure if they tuck on something as old as yours.

what i would do is go around and look at the different wheels you like, but click the FWD section. That is where you'll find a wheel that tucks, you wont really find em in the RWD section at all.

hope that answers.. what I did was goto ebay, type in the size you want.. i.e. 18" wheels and just go through all the various wheels, oem, import, fwd, etc..
