kevin...did you cut into the cowl vent area when you moved the master cylinder up? im assuming your trucks not water tight. kelly....your saying an 86 master cylinder will clear 18's without relocation? how come people don't just do that instead of going through the hassle of relocation?

Hit up AHAB on here. He used one off an Accord, which has a remote resevior, which allows you to keep that part in the engine bay away from the interior, but also lets his toyota lay out on 20's

i went to advance auto this morning and asked to look at an 86 master cylinder and it was identical to my existing one. after staring at the minitruckin magazine with the under dash setup and lookin at my pedal assembly i decide to raise it. this way theres less fabrication on the assembly itself....just alot of cutting.

if you are looking at the overall length, that is the same.its the fact that the mounting flange is in a different spot and that keeps the cylinder from sticking out into the engine compartment as much.

i measured 3 1/8" from flange to the other end. that was the same on both mine and the one at advance. they looked identical but maybe i was too concerned with my measurement and didn't look at how it mounted. i moved mine up as high as i could today. it wasn't difficult. i still have to lengthen the pedal and seal up the part of the cowl i cut into.i should have that wrapped up tomorrow. thanks for the help everyone.

I put mine under the dash and made a cantilever style linkage. It works pretty good, and I like that it has less throw before the clutch engages. Its like 2" versus the stock 4-5".
