What gauge metal are ya useing on the inside of the bed when smoothing it out? I don't want to use something too thick cause I don't want the bed to weight a thousand pounds .But I don't want to make it too thin that it dings up easaly?

16 is going to be your strongest and best bet. you could use 18, just make sure you run some bracing underneath it. i personally am doing 16 gauge for the floor, then 18 gauge for the sides and wheeltubs...

mine is 16 gauge plug welded in the middle of the sheets to the main 1x1 bracing and secondary 3/4 x 3/4 bracing then fully welded along the seams and joints. 2 people can easily pick it up. But if I were to do it again I would have went to a 14 gauge floor and 16 gauge sides because it took forever to spot weld then smooth out and im scared to put any pressure on the floor without it making a low spot. The line-x under the bottom tightened it up a little though.

holly balls thats alot of body work good luck. i used 16 gauge do your floor in two pieces if possible and use 3m panel bond to glue it in no welding and trust me it will not come up. it is still going to way a ton but worth it at the end.
