when i clean up my black paint i hit it with a scotchbrite pad and respray it with my walmart krylon ultraflat... thats some hot paint on all those trucks/cars

Who said you cut and buff black different than other colors?? I was just asking what steps you all are taking to polish out black.
I've just never heard of putting 600 or 800 on clear coat. So i figured it was something to do with black paint.

most people dont use 600 or 800, i guess you could say it almost seems like a "secret" if that makes any sense. biggest thing is to make sure you hit it enough with 1000 grit after.
