Yeah, I always kinda figured it wouldn't be too hard for somebody to figure out with a little ambition.

I think the mystique of milling wheels has been pumped up significantly to keep every Tom, Dick & Harry from churning them out.

But you can't keep secrets like that for very long. Especially when the 'secret' is revealed to every dude who buys a set of wheels. It's only a matter of time till the technique is public knowledge.

That is probably not a bad idea. How long till Tom Hack job is selling his wheels to every broke minitrucker. And then you got unsafe wheels on the road.

I'm sorry but milling a bead should not be taken lightly. Not saying anyone is. I also know that there are different bead shapes for different size of wheels so that people couldn't put say a 17 inch tire on a 18 inch rim. Maybe as the wheels exploded in size they went away from this. But I don't a 15 inch tire has the same bead as a 22. Not saying it wont work just be surprised if it is correct.

Me and my mama just put the wheel in a vice and operated the grinder with vise grips and everything turned out nice on her rambler wagon knockoff 100 spoke semi wheels

That's what I see it coming to.

as long as a machinist does it it would be hard to screw up. as long as you dont try to do it with a grinder ect.

I just dont agree with you, I think things in life can be that easy. I am sure that if you try to put a 17" tire on an 18" wheel the beed would never set and the tire would blow off the wheel. I know what I did works just fine. I have put 80,000 miles on wheels cut by my guy and have pulled loads with up to 28,000lbs with no probs out of the tires. The only thing I have ever go bad is fucker from chromewheel.com and his shit adapters. Hell if you dont like the idea of using the 15" wheel like I did then take a 19, 22, or 24" wheel with you..... I am sorry but when you are as poor as I am you find ways not to pay $130-$150 each to machine a wheel. That is why I dont try to get ritch off of them because I know what its like to not have the money for it and I just try to help people out as much as I can....
