The focus is so far away from the vehicles. At Hot Rod shows everyone takes pride in their vehicle, they love to talk with people and they present themselves in a positive way. I see a lot of people as a$$holes who are trying to act tough and they could care less that their 3 toned primer truck with half of a roll pan and some stock wheels is still dirty at the show, they just want to get drunk. That image is apparent across the nation. I think it's why you lose so many good people and why the scene gets little respect. Even people in this forum who said " If a young punk gets out of line I'd just kick his ass." maybe if someone calmly talked to him and said " Man you're making a fool of yourself and us, relax a little." He'd be more responsive. I just get tired of the drama and bs. I spend too much time and money on my rides to feel a huge let down when I go to a show and 50 percent of the people there are blazed, drunk, or just complete dicks. If you want to do all that, go have a house party, but pull it together when it's 11:00am on a Sunday.I think the one thing that rings true in all of this thread is GROW UP!

I need to preface what I am going to write below.........This is LONG and what I am about to say will not be liked and I am sure will be difficult to change.
I am involved with many different aspects of the automotive world from mini trucks to old foreign cars (Citroens to be exact) to hot rods. I am by no means anyone special but I have taken the "temp" of the other groups and how they feel about us "minitrucker" and it might be shocking to you...or not, most don
