ya know, we have threads all over this site about this topic. That should tell people that there is a problem. Most of us drink at the shows and the hotels and have a good time. I believe too that we need to respect the hotels and cities we visit with the repect we want shown toward us and our rides. I have never had a problem with someone doing damage to my truck in a hotel parking lot at night (knock on wood) even though I do worry sometimes when the hotel parking lot is full of us all drinkin'. Everyone seems to respect everyones rides so why can't we do the same to the hotels we stay at. These people have put their heart and souls into these hotels just as we have our trucks. I do think that most people that are participants are not the problem. I think it is freinds of participants and spectators that may have not put the blood, sweat and or cash into something to realize what respect is all about. I'm an old timer and as we get older and experience alot of trials and tribulations in life and see the hard work that goes into building things and maintaining them, we learn respect for our stuff and other peoples stuff too. There have beens some real good ways mentioned here to help control this problem. I know If I was a promoter, I would get a list from the hotels of names of the people that were signed into that hotel room that had damage and they would be contacted and told that those person and or the show vehicle that they entered would not be allowed to enter my show the following year, 1 year probation. Believe me, you could find out real quick what vehicle or vehicles those people were associated with. I wouldn't care who it was. Keep the good idea's comin' and maybe these promoters will be able to pick up on some of them and weed out the Idiots.

I don't want to write an entire paragraph because I'll just be repeating these other guys. But one thing I will say is that from what I see go on at shows (hotels) is most of the people who go about these shenanigans don't participate in an annual show or contribute to anything in the sense of that. They kind of just show up and wait for the night life to get drunk and throw shit around, pass out and forget about it all. If some of these fools realized the amount of work that it takes to present a decent show for them to come and trash, chances are likely they wouldn't do what they do.

One more thing I forgot to add is that people need to stop acting like they have something to prove. This isn't high school, guys. If you're adult enough to go to a show, and stay in a hotel out of town, be adult enough to handle yourself. You don't have anything to prove to anyone else. Want a good nightlife? Go to the club! You don't get in trouble for getting stupidly wasted at the club, but you do get in trouble for tearing shit up when you're drunk.

To start, people need to remember why they go to car shows. For a select few, it's to win trophies. For others, though, it's for fun with old and new friends. It's perfectly fine to have as much fun as you want, but when you act a fool, you're bringing EVERYONE down. Theres a reason that minitrucks have a negative connotation that involves "thugs" and "low riders". Just remember the next time that you're trashing a hotel, or getting arrested for something stupid at a hotel, that you're bringing down the whole scene.
ya know whats funny? when the lowrider guys throw a show hotels dont get trashed people dont act like idiopts and everyone partys it up and has a ball.....even the "thugz" ive been to a bunch of lworider magazine shows and never heard of anything bad happenin other then some people getting srrested for hoppin there rides drunk as fuck

Well I wasn't meaning to make a generalization, rather point one out. I've never been to a lowrider show, so I can't comment, but I'm sure you know that people see them as thugs.

These are all some awesome ideas. Keep them coming. You know, they say the more you see it, the more you will remember next time you think about destroying something. Because like I said, it doesn't reflect on just you, it reflects on everybody. And in order for cops to get off our asses, we have to prove to them that we are all grown up and responsible individuals.

Earlier I posted how we wristband everyone that comes into our event and that number identifies you by name address city-state and if you are with or are in a club. Even the spectators get a wristband. We have a good system that I will share with anyone who wants to look at it. I have had guys that destroyed stuff at our event and they said they would not pay for the damage they caused in 1997. This person came to our event this year as a passenger the girls doing the input in our database caught it before they got threw the gates. I told the guy that in 1977 he did $300.00 worth of damage. He looked at me like how could I remember him I did not but the database did. They drove 600 miles to come to our event. I told him that if he wanted into the event that he owed us $300.00 plus a $300.00 damage deposit that if he was cool that weekend he would get his deposit back. The funny thing is the guy he came with was in a club and he said if I would of know this guy was someone that is a troublemaker at events he would of not brought him. I have leaned that clubs don

77sunset, sounds like you have a hell of a good system for controlling your event. I agree that most big clubs don't want to be associated with somebody doing stupid shit at shows and giving them a bad name. They pick quality rides and they want quality members driving them.
