ok , im currently working on my bed where ive raised the floor in it, any ways im in the process of getting my sheet metal cut to fit. my question is ; what are you guys using once the sides/floor is all welded in . is there a certain method on how you would do this?

Are you going to paint it, LineX it? I have seen seam sealer used. Good luck.

It really depends on what look you ar going for. If you want the factory look use seam sealer. However if you are going to Line X it I wouldn't even bother.

If the sheetmetal is going to be cut to an exact fit you can weld it in from the bottom and with a little finish work inside the bed you will have a nice clean look.

If you are going to drive it alot use seam sealer. You can run the bead then use your finger to smooth it out. If you are not going to drive it much and it is going to be full out show truck bosy filler will give you a very clean look. The problem with body filler is if you are going to drive it alot your bed will flex and crack it out.

do they make a sandable seam sealer?

I have not seen any but that doesn't mean there aren't any. I work in a bodyshop at a Chevrolet dealer so all the stuff we have is mean to match factory seam sealer. So even when it is dry and paintable it is still rubbery I guess you would say. If you tried to sand it it would just ball up on you.

the only time i have ever had body filler crack was when panels arent fully welded, i would say weld it up completely and smooth out with filler i think u'll be ok to drive it
