but yeah I had a used to have 93 motor with the tbi in mine and was getting 13-14 on the highway at 75 (not towing) so there might be something wrong with yours. I had almost a 30 min. commute to school one way when i was driving my truck daily and only having to fill up once a week.

you may wanna chek the map and o2 sensor they may need to be repladcesd cuase if your burning that much gas up some thing is not reading right and causuing you to burn more gas..

look for a late model 5.3 or 6.0. around here you can pick one up cheap and they get good mileage and you can get a stand alone com. for them or put a carb on them.

i am getting 13 to 14 with the new truck i just bought, and it has the 454 as well. i am getting ready to do a injector swap and put the bosch 19 lb injectors and the banks power headers and exaust.

hmm let us know how this combination goes curious about the headers if they will drag with my bodydrop...hmmm whats the deal with the injector swap hmm

injector swap wakes the 454 up like crazy! the injectors are actually out of a ford 4.6. the gm injectors have a shitty spray pattern dour to the multek pin design. the bosch uses a ball design, and instead of the stream type pattern, it gives a full spray. it atomizes better in the chambers creating better horsepower and better mileage as well. as far as the headers, i too will be stock floored, and they will not drag! they are actually about 2-3 inches above the rail! i have a friend that put them on his several months ago, and i was checking his out. he is not into the low trucks, just into power because he hotshots for a living. sorry for the book, just know that we with bigblocks CAN have decent mileage with a few tricks!!!!!

here are the injector sets you can swap in with no other mods!! if you want to do some computer wotk, you can get the bigger injectors and get even more power.
