Best way to shave a body line???

I need to shave the body line on my ranger and i've been told a few different ways that can do it. Use short Kitty hair glass and fill it, have sheet metal cut and weld it in, place welding wire in the center and weld that in.

What do you guys think???

I'd probably go for the sheetmetal route. Thats how I plan to shave the bodyline on my bed. But mines a little bigger. Still the same idea I would think, just on a smaller scale.

i wouldnt be afraid to fill small bodylines with something like dynaglass or the kevlar reinforced fibertech stuff..because really..by the time you weld that all shut and get it ground down its most likely gonna need a bunch of mud anyway...and as long as its prepped right you can get away with using a decent amount of filler without problems...put a straightedge on whatever your filling and see exactly how thick it will be..may not be as much as you think...

yeah, it's not that deep. and with so much welding and grinding to get it all warping would definately be a consern.

The only thing i'm hesitant about using the reinforced filler is that i'm afraid it will start cracking in 2 years and i'll have to do it all over, and repaint

Yeah weld it man

As long as you don't move too fast you shouldn't have a problem with warping. Especially due to the fact it's on a stamped bodyline, not a flat pannel.

You could probably get away with just filler if you prepped it right. But if you weld it you KNOW it won't crack out, ever

yeah....i would go ahead and take the time to weld it up, and like they said if done right it wont warp and you never have to worry about it cracking out.
