dont get me wrong i know alot of work is put into those magazines but not everyone has the same taste and not everyone wants to have the most crazy mods ever some like simple and clean some like way out there stuff its all a matter of opinion in what they want to see and what they like personally i like a clean truck simple color and it doesnt have to be some crazy mods and shaving every little thing i just dont care for all the insane mods and then some do but i think a super clean truck or plain and simple truck should get just as much attention as one that has 50 different colors on it and the craziest mods different isnt always a good thing sometimes its the little things that make a truck not what someone has and hasnt done and bigger isnt always better its all in what a person tastes and style are.

you obviously havent looked at the magazines close enough................seriously, go get your last 12 issues of minitruckin and look at every page. you will see the variety. You will see some trucks with crazy amount of mods, you'll also see some trucks plain and simple yet very clean. I think your just upset that your truck wasnt in the mag this year because if it was, you would have never started this thread in the first place. The best thing to do is just go back to the drawing board.

why get into a club after your truck is complete? i always thought that clubs were meant for kick ass under construction rides and finished rides where people helped each other and used each others hook ups but i havent been in a club since like 1998 or 1999 and where i am from we have no big clubs anyways... but besides that I think some on here are right that there isnt enough show coverage and some are right that the reason those trucks that are in there multiple times are the most tricked out trucks out there.. and they are some of the same trucks that were nominated truck of the year last year and so on.. i would love to see more under construction rides though because alot of us have that kind of stuff in our garages right now.. i think that the BAR IS SET REALLY HIGH FOR MINITRUCKERS when i was young alot of guys had minis in my town i mean triple what there is now alot!! and then we started bodydropping and back halfing and i loved seeing shit with just airshocks on the rear but when they thought they had to start doing all this stuff to keep up sfbds and tube frames now i feel overwhelmed a little but i can do the sfbd i know it just not a tube frame chassis lol but what this has to do with anything is just why set the bar so high to get in the mag and then only the same stuff does.. i know a few bodydropped rides that still have door handles that are sweet and i would love to see them get some recognition.. i wish everyone didnt see it as a competition and just did what was within their boundries and capabilities and maybe we wouldnt have a 4 to 1 ratio on rides torn apart in garages insted of on the road..

I started shooting for minitruckin because of Mike I was happy shooting for a rod,and another truck/import publication. I saw the changes Mike had made, and I had to be a part of it. I have a 02 excursion with 195,000 miles on it just from going to shows to shoot the hottest trucks I can find it has nothing to do with a logo at all. I cant think of any photographer that would walk past any feature worthy ride when its money in there pockets to shoot it. Originally posted by drtbiker182

Clubs are not just for completed rides. Clubs are just a bunch of guys with a common interest. I am not in a club but I do hang out with others that are in various clubs, we just have a common goal: to build awesome rides. To have your vehicle in a magazine it has to be appealing. There are reasons that some are shown on camera and others that are not. I have had a couple of pics of mine in MT and it's not because I know people. Ultimately build it for you, that is the satisfaction, getting it featured or winning trophies is a bonus.

People enter clubs for different reasons. if you do some searching on here, I recall a great thread talking about reasons people join the clubs they do. its one of those things where people have their own reasons for joining the clubs they do and every club is unique with its own style, you really gotta look into it and pick a club that fits you best.

if each year the bar wasnt raised, then we simply would be still stuck in the days where people were slapping player wire wheels on their trucks and going with the ol "texas tail spoiler" for their beds! I could go on! But the trucks that grace the covers or that usually represent the show coverage, if you look at them, there are reasons why theyre in there. again, some of the craziest modded trucks are in there sure, but also a lot of simple yet very clean trucks are featured and shown as well. i just think saying all the trucks in the coverage are over the top with mods is everyones biggest a$$cuse for why their own trucks didnt make it. Your truck didnt make it, get over it.

lastly, why not just sit back and enjoy the magazine. the mini truckin staff work hard, i couldnt imagine how many pics they have to choose from, and again, not to mention they have put on hold theyre own projects just to keep producing a quality magazine for the community that is affordable. Be thankful for those main sponors or "ads" in the magazines as well. Helps on cost, otherwise the price would be redonkulous which is prolly another reason coverage is limited and then there would be another thread created! On a final note, Mike, Ernie, and the rest of the crew, theyre doing a hell of a job. Keep it up!
