damn, i'm going to bellevue too. maybe i'll end up getting some snow tires. staying in seattle downtown, going to bellevue, marysville, everett, the area around there. and actually, i'm coming from Florida. by the way, thanks jason for the tip. i had a similar route planned out, but your's seems more simple.

No problem bro..the mini scene is pretty good. there are quite a few guys from various truck forums up in seattle. I have had the pleasure of meeting a few of them at a few of the local shows, but this time of year most will probably be hunkered down in the garage. We never really did much in the winter anyway....

How long are you going to be there?

Hey man make sure you stop by and check out the shop. I always like meeting minitruckers from other parts of the country.

You have a good chance of running into snow for the past 5 states you drive through. Not sure which route you are taking but you WILL see snow and slick roads in Idaho, Oregon and Washington there is just no getting around that. If you enter Utah, Northern Nevada, Northern California or Colorado you will also hit snow.

There are passes in Idaho you will need to be careful of along with Oregon (from Baker City to Pendelton is all high passes and steep grades) and like they said about the passes in Washington.

If you've never drove in snow I'd suggest picking up a set of chains at some point just in case. Myself, I hate them but then again I've drove in heavy snow country since I first started driving when I was 13 but if you are not familiar with it chains can be a life savor, just fyi and my opinion.

hope you dont plan on goin through colorado, all the mountain passes and highways that go's through denver throught the mountains i-90 or i-75 or whatever just got rumped on today, 2ft of snow.. i wouldnt say you need snow tires, just be cautions when you get into snow or a blizzard. The worst thing during a snowstorm on the road is an idiot drive who is scared of the snow, thats what causes accidents. Oh, Practice drifting, LOL

Good tires, weight, the rain-x is a great idea, chains are a life saver, and common sense. Also some winter gear.Gotta get out at some point.Seattle is not far from me,and were having -20 to -30 windchill, and theres already 3 feet of snow, with another 30-40 cm's the next 2 days. And were ussually all rain.Theres some artic airflow thing happenin',so I'm sure Seattle will get it as well.Well good luck on your trip, and drive safe!

No, blackice is fucking ice that is hard or next to impossible to see because it has little to no air trapped in it so the asphalt shows through and very little light is reflected off of it, so the road will look dry...if you see a patch of road that looks wet, then you'd expect it to be frozen in sub zero weather...duh

welcome to the north, once you get into the northern states buy about 4 sandbags throw them in the bed over the axle. then stop by a tire store and get a set of CHAINS. since you don't know how to drive in snow you might end up in the ditch, bring a TOW ROPE that way you can just ask people to yank you out. just be carefull when you drive. cause there are no signs of the cold/snow letting up, here in he northwest. or get one of these and then you can rally all you want. good luck man.
