i bought my 93 isuzu bagged already, back in january, and it has been a reliable daily since (after i dropped a little cash into the engine) well last night i was drivin down a shitty road, and hit a bad bump and the passenger side upper bag mount and control arm broke away from the frame. if it was just the bag mount, i could fix the easily, but its the control arm too. what should i do? try to fix it, or take what i want/need from the truck and scrap it? it runs fine, everything works, the body is in great condition. i just dont know what to do
Take pics so we can see the damage, and tell you the best way to go.
well, i have no pics yet, its just sittin in the yard, its been raining here all day, but the whole top part of the passenger side suspenion is resting against the inner fender well and engine.
That doesnt sound good. You can always find a frame in a junk yard.
I will have a frame available shortly. It will be bone stock, unmolested and ready to be cut up
yea, but then id have alot of shit to do switching everything over, or i could just get a front frame clip....

Take measurements off the other side, mirror them onto the broken side, make new upper arm mounts. I always do that on Isuzus, because once the frame is cut up to accept bag mounts, the upper a arm mount has no strength. A piece of gusseted 1/4 plate with the holes drilled out will work, just make sure the holes are in the same place as the old ones, at the same degree of rake. Using sheetmetal, make templates of the upper arm placement from the unbroken side. Put the truck on a flat level surface, and measure the angle from top to bottom and front to back of the a arm holes, then build your new mount to match. You can always clean up the broken piece, slide it back in place, and use it to line up new arm brackets. Make a new bag mount, weld it in, your done. That help? Any more probs, IM me.
nick if you want to take a look at my lady's hers seems to be done really well... we can show it to you when ever you want... but if you decide to part it out let us know bc she wants to redo the bed and will either swap beds with you or buy it off you let us know.... and good luck man ... hope it all works out for you
cool dude, sounds good. i think i will try that out. i cant really measure off the other side though, when i first got the truck, the guy told me the driver side would need to be redone, and when i got it home and looked at it, the bag mount was cracked and moved up a little, so i had to redo that, and im not sure if it moved that upper control arm.
so you just use some 1/4" plate steel to make/mount your upper control arms?
