They make a really clean cut. Just tape off the area. Its like a refined sawzall, and not much vibration.
As for the top, Street Beat is all I've heard of.

i used a cut off well to start a hole for a saws all blade. i used a fine tooth metal cutting blade to make it easier on the warpage and it turned out great. The saws all made less sparks to burn the interior and i had my choice of plasma cuter, sawsall, and cut off wheel to use.
