All I know is that I have done this 1 million times in my head....now it just comes down to getting it done. I'm gonna pick up a couple of the books.....they will be good reading for sure. Even if this one doesn't turn out....at least I tried. And the next one will have a better chance.

Wish me some luck!

if your floor or garage is flat, you dont need a build anything to make your frame on.

build your frame rails, weld the two (left and right) up, and level them out on your floor. you can it straight and level with little work. its not hard. the mustang II front end is cool, cheap, and comes with dropped spindles and tube control arms form around 1500-2000. the yota from end is nice, but the control arms arent tubed, but you can get spindles and bag it easily. it is really up to you. yota front end is way cheaper.

Listen to this guy... Travis can build a Camshaft out of a Jack stand and a Pogo stick. ... Originally posted by travis98s10

fuck yes build one. And spend some time making it PERFECTLY straight and level where you will be working. your truck will go together alot smoother. being off 1/8 at the front of the frame may be off up to 1" at the back and is alot more work to fix later than spend another day to prevent shit like that. Youre going to need to ask questions on alot of stuff but be careful who you ask on more important ones especially on here. Somebody might say only use 3x3x1/4" on a minitruck frame but 9/10 fabricators will agree thats unneeded extra weight and overkill on rigidity. 2x3x3/16 is more than enough. Take your time, measure more than twice and WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING even if its bullshit measurements like from the center of the second hole in the frame horn to the transmission x member. Itll help you later on or at least be another double checking point. Good luck man.

jack stand and pogo stick you can level the main rails by using boards and small shims(ie thin metal) and level the boards on all 4 corners. i did that on my jeep frame and i had to weld some metal to it and concrete rivit it to the floor...
