i am almost down to the frame on my 95 std cab ranger...this is my first crack at a full blown custom. I was wondering if it is a neccessity to make a frame table??? I'm planning on running a 'yota front clip or mustang II. and then I want to build a new frame from the firewall back, for a SFBD.

I plan on a different motor and tranny. So really nothing will be stock.

Any help is appreciated.

the way i see it is if you have to ask complete strangers questions about something like this you shouldnt do it. get books, do research. dont ask ssm for any questions.

Man, I would say do some research and ask alot of questions and then try it. I'm going to be building a frame for my truck here pretty soon also. I've never done it either, but that's not stopping me. Everyone has to start somewhere. I'm going to build a frame table because I hate measuring so much, and I figured it will make it alot easier to keep everything square. Just my .02

what cris is getting at is that this is some serious work and it looks like your in way over your head when you have to ask the question is a frame table necessary, there are numerous websites out there that have plenty of info on chassis fab so do your homework first and your final result will be better.

Yup, it sucks that a guy can't ask some questions. Has to start SOMEWHERE!!!!

Don't let SSM get you down man...... Keep on asking questions, that's how you learn... Just as long as you go out and do it after asking the questions.

A frame table always helps. Have you had experience in doing anything like this? If not you should start with a subframe. Then you wont get overwhelmed and quit. A subframe is a good start, roll it for a summer then tear it apart again.

BUT if you know that you have the skills then go for it.

A jig will always be the way to go, if you can.

whens the last time you built a full frame? i know how much work is involved. its not something you start off doing. people like you will give this guy shitty advice and then he will get in over his head and run his truck into a tree when something goes wrong. i gave him advice. stay away from ssm, and buy books. research. away from ssm.

Well, since you came on here looking for answers, not a teenager girl fight, I would recommend a frame table. Make sure it is super square and super level. Measure a hundred times if you have to. It'll make sure that your frame is straight and that everything will line up in the end. Good luck bro.

Like Ben said, use a frame table. It will save your ass in the end. Spend a few weeks just building the table, because if the table is off, so is your frame.
