22r timing issues

i need to know what is the number 1 piston on a 86 22r? also is the timing degree mark on the bottom like normal old cars?

number 1 is the first cylinder and the timing mark is on the crank pulley like all the others

as in the one nearest the front or rear of the truck?

On the distributor cap it should have a number one on it, just follow the spark plug wire. OR its the first cylinder on the front of the motor.

just to add my 3cents, as you sit in the drivers seat, it is the one the furtherest away. Or if that didn't work the one closest to the radiator. If there are any other questions besideds I failed english let me know.
