For me personally I don't care who you are. If the truck is cool clean and we think are readers will like it then we'll shoot it. Granted sometimes to different isn't good but by not having an S-10 it should help. Send me pics of your truck and if you want me to be completely blunt about it I will just don't hold it against me. Hopefully it's just something that's been overlooked.

#1 is have it CLEAN. I don't just mean soap and water clean but do CLEAN work and don't halfass anything.

#2 is have it DONE. I've been shooting for 6 years now and I tell everyone that if you're not done with it I don't want to shoot it. You may have one or two things u want to finish but you would like to go ahead and have it shot; *BAD IDEA*. You may get those things done and then want to kick yourself in the ass for not having waited. I would rather see it the way you want it than that happen.

#3 is kind of hard to say. True being different does help but I've seen plenty of stuff that is different that really isn't something that's gonna work in the magazine. Being different or original can really be a double-edged sword.

Now having said all that from a photographers standpoint, I want to say this from a minitrucker's standpoint;
BUILD IT THE WAY U LIKE IT. Having a magazine notice your ride should not be your goal, your goal should be building something to your tastes. If a mag notices it and wants to shoot it then great, an added bonus. But build something your satisfied with and don't build it for someone else. You're driving it and putting your name on it.

Just my opinion.

This kid just had chad ask to send him some pics, maybe you should send him some pics. Cause thats gonna get you alot farther than other guys that want a spread. BUT I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THE SAME THING EVERYONE ELSE IS SAYING, AND TELL YOU TO BUILD YOUR TRUCK FOR YOURSELF, and if MT won't feature you. you can probbly put a camper top on it, and get featured by "Go R.v.ing" or sumthin.

the thing i notice the most is that trucks arent ever completely done. the whole "Its who you know" thing is really fucken overated. When my truck was on the cover of minitruckin nobody knew me or the truck. i didnt know the Magazine guys, i mean id seen em at shows. i would say hi to them but i would never bug them. Finally one day Mike Finnegan saw a picture of my truck leaving the paint shop and he immediately contacted me. The truck had no interior and no motor work done, just outside paint, wheels, and the frame was done and painted.

They knew they wanted it right away, why? because my truck was different, but in a good way, it was a mitsu. Its sad but true that owning an s-10 isnt going to help.

When it comes down to it though dont build your truck for the sole purpose of a magazine. when i built my truck the only thing i wanted to do was help put my club on the map. I wanted to show people who we were and that we were here to be reckoned with. I also love the sport and the lifestyle. Like most people i dreamed of a photoshoot but it wasnt my goal.

Ill tell you know that having a bad attitude with the photographers isnt going to help.

build your truck for yourself and nobody else. don't worry about what everyone else does and what everyone else thinks. if it gets featured, that's great, a little extra something. if not, don't worry about it and just be proud and happy about what you built.

Just build your ride and dont worry about it. The last thing I was thinking about was a feature when I was asked if I would be interested in being featured in Truckin. Made me happy. Made me happier when it hit the stands and hade five pages. Remember a few things. Just because they shoot it dont mean it will ever hit the magazine. Another thing is pay attention to details. That helps alot
