when i first wanted to get into welding i went to home depot and picked up my welder from there, with that and the gas cylinder i was into it maybe $600 or so. i just got a bunch of scrap metal and started welding on it. my only friend that knew how to weld was being a prick and didnt really show me ne thing. so i just did a lotta reading, accually alot of shit i learned was off this site, and trial and error

Look into Lincoln Electric and Hobarts welding schools. Lincoln has beginner and advanced classes that last 1 week. They seem to have great results in that period.

my pops made learn how to weld with gas first after that most of it was a breeze tig was a little different. go to a community college they tecah you the basics and offer certs.
