diamond plate trailers better then wood?....or does it make a difference?..
wood is lighter and cheaper, but depending on where you live you might have to replace the wood every couple years.
I always lay out the truck when i can, if you are dragging the rockers across asphalt at 50mph then wood sitting still isnt gonna hurt them. The wedge trailer has angle iron to keep the wheels from coming off the ramps so i cant lay them out. I always put 2 straps over the rear axle and through the wheels and one through the hole in the front crossmember (s10) The key is to triangulate the straps as much as possible. In an enclosed trailer be sure the D rings are tied into a floor crossmember and as stated before UNHOOK YOUR BATTERY. Dont want another cha ching incident.
the only trailer my truck will ever be near will be the one it pulls with my jetskis on it
I have a full size inside of a 24 ft enclosed. I pull it 75 mph everywhere i go. I have 4 axle straps that go over the engine cross member in the front and they criss-cross. 2 more axle straps over the rear axle and criss-crossed. that heavy bitch ain't never moved. Knock on wood, i am pulling to anderson this week. from Newport news. and back. I always leave mine aired up but you can not have any leaks either. I don't have to worry about 2X4's and body rubbin on straps. I also use 10,000lb straps. if you don't use big shit you might lose your shit. i seen that one day on the way to ECN... not me.....
I am not sure why the guy siad to unhook your batteries tho..... anybody got an answer ???
i bought a set of BMW wheel straps.. that towing companies use to tow BMW's they work really good... i leave my truck juiced up so i can get in and out.. ive never had a problem with the truck moving.. and there alot eaiser to put on...
ill make sure to get acouple pics this weekend of how i roll.. dpending on if i put it on the rollback or the trailer.. depends on how i ride
gas fumes + battery arcing = cha ching
