Well, the little Jaykob man has made it 12 hours off the ventilator!! He looked like he was working so hard today, but I know that it's probably that he just has to get used to breathing without the tube. The Respiratory Therapist (RT) said his blood gasses were looking great and his nurse said his oxygen saturation was looking wonderful. He's under an oxygen hood right now but is only on about 29% oxygen where room oxygen is only 21%, so he's not on much. So once his breathing is stabilaized, then maybe we'll get to hold our little boy. I did get to change his diaper today which was pretty exciting...it's the first time I've got to do anything "motherly" with him. So far, that's it, but I'll let you know when we hit another milestone. I just posted a pic of Jaykob on my page so as soon as it's approved you can see him with no ventilator tube down his throat...now you can see his cute little face!!

Jason and Kristen, yall already know but I been praying for Jaykob. Luckily I get daily updates cuz Jason is like my bro. I cant wait to see the little guy!

I just thought I would give you a new update on the Jaykob man. His breathing has stabilized enough that is no longer under the oxygen hood, but getting oxygen through a nasal cannula. He is actually doing very well. The doctors found that he had a little infection in his bloodstream today but gave him some antibiotics to clear it up and he should be ok from that. Also, I got to hold him today!! For the first time in his 2 weeks of life, my little man got to be held! I will continue to let you know how he does. Kristen, your little man is in my prayers, I couldn't imagine going through all of that and I have 4. I know you can't wait to get him home and spoil him rotten!
