my brother (17 years old) was driving his girlfriend home, he got pulled over. the officer said he pulled him over for running a stop sign, and even said he partially understands (its a new sign).. 2 more officers showed up within this hour of being pulled over. my brother even has my mom on the phone, etc.. asking to speak to the officer while they search his truck, him and his girlfriend. They straight out said this truck seems to be stolen. They made him get out and put his hands on the truck, they checked the VIN # and it didnt match because he has a new style nissan hardbody dash swap. He explained that, and they checked the engine (new engine also). So he asked, can you lift it so we can check for a VIN on the frame. My brother explained it has a new custom chassis.. so, he has a ticket filled out having nothing to do with the stop sign.. but now my brothers girlfriends parents think hes like a drug dealer lmao (because shes been with him while being pulled over 4 times now and this was all never brought up). He had his license/reg/insurance and was polite.. he is honestly telling me he felt as if he was being charged with murder. Obviously the truck

Sounds 100% legal to me... Federal law requires that the VIN to the vehicle be displayed on the dash on the actual VIN plate, fyi... any altering of it can deem the vehicle stolen or the raise an eyebrow to atleast look into it.

Quota's are against the law. Cops write a certain number of tickets a month, so they can make themselves look good. And most of the time they can be bullshit tickets. If you think they violated your rights, take them to court. Otherwise realise that driving a car/truck that attracts attention may cause you to get questioned.

Do you have the statute that states it is against the law for cops to have a quota for tickets? Just curious, sounds more like "hearsay" than a fact...please reply?

I agree with FTP... When i was in school i had a 95 nissan lowered and looking sweet. My best friends dad was a cop and he told me not to be around when he need to make his quota. He said he looked for young punks in lowriders to torment because he knows they have illegal stuff done to there trucks. So now I got my trucks and also my bike and i torment the piss out of them on it. My dad said its my turn to torment them because they did itto me as a child.

Life looks better at 100 on the back tire...

Well I didn't post this to say FTP myself.. I know they were doing their job, but just wondering if it had to be so extreme.. hell it was probably the SAME cop that pulled him over last time it's a small town here lol.

if I was dumb enough to steal a truck, especially an attention getting truck.. id probably in turn also be stupid enough to RUN from them lol.. he was on the phone with my mom too part of the time can you imagine this "mom they caught me, that truck i stole.. well they found out so come help me!" lol..

It's just kind of bad here.. my friend a few years back, would take backroads to get home quicker when he closed at work (cook at a steakhouse) and one time his clothes were so nasty he just drove in his boxers.. not doing anything wrong, he was pulled over (truck not bagged/bodydropped anything crazy) and was only asked "what are you doing" he said driving home from work. they asked where does he live, he explained.. and they said he wasnt ALLOWED to drive on that road (a public street lol) and this all took over an hour on the side of the highway in his boxers.. people driving by laughing/yelling. He wasn't accused of speeding, or anything.. just told he cant take backroads to get home lol. so sometimes they get kind of extreme here, doing their job or not..

Ricky, I understand where you are coming from, but you have to understand where they are coming from too. First off, just because your bro is talking on the phone to "mom" doesnt mean it could be some other female friend on the line pretending. It has happened in the past, therefore thats the way its handled, trust no one.

Youd be amazed at some of the stupid things people do in stolen cars, best one of all, just pull over, play dumb, and say "well i didnt know." Doesnt work that way. Not everyone runs from the cops in stolen cars.

Lastly, if the backroads were private roads, then no, he cannot use them. If i pulled over some dude in his boxers and he's telling me he is coming from work, damn skippy I am gonna investigate a tad further, something sounds whack!!
