I say if you have the opportunity to go to school go, but at the same time get the experiance too.
As far as a bachelors degree being equivalent to a high school diploma that will be true in certain fields, but fields where they need more people in a bachelors degree willl still hold up.
I graduated in dec with a BS degree in Mech. Engineering and if feels like noone is looking for recent graduates with no exp. Everyone is looking for 2-5 years of experiance. So if you can go to school go, but at the same time try to get exp. with internships or whatever else. I wish I had did some co-ops or internships to get the exp. because unless you know someone or get really lucky sometimes the education isnt all you need.

GO TO SCHOOL!!! When I graduated HS I pissed off college. Years later I was sick and tired of driving an 18 wheeler cross country so I went back to school and got a BS in computer visulization. Now I make very good money designing hot tubs for a living. I would still be driving, and living a boring life if I had not went back
