Redoing mine now,first one finishedIf you need to replace the backing ,I've used wooden door skins before,their only 1/8'' thick

Use luan plywood.1/8" is easier to get to form to the shape of the door,but I use 1/4" for the durability.I dont like using particle board anywhere moisture can get to it.Actually particle board sucks for pretty much anything.I believe most home supply stores carry luan ply.If they don't just go to a local cabinet supply house.

louon or however you spell it, you can buy it at lowes or home depot stuff is awesome and really easy to work with. the rest of my post got cut off for some reason, last night.

luaun will work but i was at lowes today they got soem 1/8 masonite i think it was? one end is white other is jus brown. it was a 8x4 ft piece for 10 bucks. im gona ge that. thsi way its big enough ot do both door panels and the back cab wall since mine is bare metal.

I USE 1/8 OR 1/4 INCH HARDBOARD... SAME AS THE BROWN PEG BOARD WITHOUT THE HOLES... LIKE 2.50 AT LOWES

and then how are u all attaching them to the doors again ???? how would u use the stock door clips ??? do u just make the new panel go over the top of the old one or what ? so its actually 2 panels put together

I was going to weld some small bungs at the four corners, in the door support, and use stainless buttonhead bolts to attatch it. Thought it would be clean enough.

drill out the holes for the clips like factory thats what im gona do.

you can glue the wood over your factory panel so that you can use the factory clips or make the cut outs the same on the new board. i used the back half of the factory panel glued it to the new wood then i drilled the front of the new board to hold the factory clips. works great and no button heads. pics on my profile.
