i dont know why people keep telling the kid to get a lawyer. He broke the contract and is at fault. THe owner of the vehicle had full right to take the car back.
and even with a lawyer, by the time you get the ball rolling your ten days will be up and the car will be gone and you are out even more money to pay a lawyer to do nothing.
Just get on the phone and call EVERYONE you know to try and get the money. i see that as your best choice

Ok, I havent read all 6 pages, so if it was said already, sorry. I work at a auto brokerage so I know a bit about this stuff.
He is being a dick because you were driving around without the correct insurance for who knows how long. He could have been fucked out of a decent some of money if it was wrecked or stolen. He probably lost faith in you holding the right insurance if he gives it back. He is the lein holder, he makes the rules, just like a bank would.
Normally a bank would inact their own insurance and you would have to pay out the ying yang for it, BHPH lots are just a little more crude about it. Nature of the business.
Dont get mad at the guy for you not keeping up with your end of the agreement, which would be the correct insurance. He probably receives notifications of what kind of insurance you have and when you change it.
Your best bet would be to take the lump some you have in cash up there and talk to him. Make sure you have it in your hand so he can see it. Then see if he will negotiate with you a bit more time to pay it off.
If that wont happen, hit up mom, try to get a personal loan, or whatever. Lesson learned.

i would just bum the money and then take the car off the road once its paid for so you dont have to pay more money into it and then just work your ass off to pay the people back and once you are all set with everyone then you should be good to go and you can put your car back on the road.
Another option is getting approved for a credit card and paying him off with that because then you will be clear with him and you can procede to make payments to the creditcard company and you should be able to pay off 1700 pretty damn fast.

i got a friend of mine that is gonna take me on monday to co sign for me to get a loan.... I told him id give him 500 if he dose it for me.... So i gotta cross my fingers now and hope everything workes as planned. And he said he wouldnt put it toward my credite as long as i didnt cause any more shit up there so atleast hes bein cool about that. All i can do is pray and hope this shit goes threw on monday. Thanks for everyone tryin to help me out.... Thats why I am a mini trucker.... My boy even offered me his straight as bodied astro van and told me that I should take the rest of the money that I have and put it towards the bags. So atleast I have good people in my life.... yo alex call him and see if you can give a down payment and see if he will let me co sign that is the only thing i can do macoy at my job said no because of the circumstance but see if that will work. if i co sign and you dont make a payment that will be on me i will risk it for you try that

hes not wantin to do any of that unless u go with me to a bank to get a loan. But I do appreciate it. Steve (not steven) is goin with me on monday.... since he owns a house and shit and he said that he would co sign.
