A year? I'm a pretty safe driver...been driving over 14 years. I can remember about 3 panic stops in my lifetime. Go to a big, empty parking lot and get your truck up to say 50mph and slam on the brakes completely then do the same on your brothers truck. Come back and tell me there was no difference in stopping distance.

not only does it affect stopping, but also acceleration, there was a noticeable increase in traction after installing a parallel 4 link on my f/s chevy over stock. keep in mind someoen can install a forward 4 link and still not have many benefits if it is not installed correctly.

Forward is the only way to go. I agree with everyone else that says its bad. When you do need to lock the brakes up, it makes the rear end of the truck go up. It kind of acts like a pole vault. The tire stops but the momentum is still going forward and with out shocks you could probably pull the axle under the back of the truck in certain circumstances. Hopefully that came out right.

ok, i agree on the braking matter. it does feel weird when you nail the brakes with the reverse setup.
but you guys that are down on the half reverse links. yall have bumped your heads. ive been running a half reverse parralell setup for about 5 yrs and have had no troubles. ive got hydros and about 14" of travel, and i only get about 2-3 degrees of pinion angle change. traction improved drastically as i could burn the tires off before and not a lot of tire spinning going on at all now with the 4 link. its all in where and how you position the top bars so everything follows the right angles.

i RUN A SPLIT 4 LINK UPPER ANGLED BARS BACK AND LOWERS FORWARD....ALTHOUGHT IT HAS CONSIDERABLY BETTER TRACTION THAN LEAFS IT IS NOWHERE NEAR AS GOOD AS A FULL FORWARD 4.....i HAVE A BIT OF hp AROUND 230 - 250 NOT QUITE SURE(CRANK HORSE) AND IT WILL DO ROLLING 2ND GEAR BURNOUTS WITHOUT DROPPING THE CLUTCH.....i ASSUME THIS WOULD NOT BE THE CASE WITH A FULL FORWARD SETUP AS THAT WILL LOAD THE POWER BACK INTO THE FRAME AND ACTUALLY PUSH THE WHEELS TO THE GROUND AND APPLY FORWARD FORCE TO THE FRAME OF THE VEHICLE.....A REVERSE 4 HAS GOT TO BE THE WORST FOR A FEW REASONS.....ONE IT APLLIES THE POWER IN REVERSE AND LIFTS THE RER WHEELS AS WELL AS APPLYING THE POWER BACK FROM THE AXLE.....THEN THERE IS THE NATURAL TENDENCY FOR THE AXLE TO WANT TO SWINT DOWN AND IF IT GOES TO FAR WILL FOLD BACKWARDS....JACK THE BACK OF THE CAR UP AND TEAR OFF( WORST CASE SCENARIO) RUN A FULL FORWARD TRIANGULATED 4 AND EITHER FUEL CELL IT OR NOTCH THE GAS TANK CORNER CO THE BARS WONT HIT IT....AND SORRY MY CAPS LOCK IS FUCKED UP...

A FULL FORWARD FOUR LINK IS THE ONLY CORRECT WAY TO ATTACH A SOLID AXLE TO THE FRAME!!!!

NO QUESTIONS, OR MY BUDDY THIS OR THAT, OR JOHNNY HOT-ROD GROUNDSCRAPER HAS ONE OR DESIGNED IT. IT DOESNT FUCKING MATTER!!!!

If you dont understand vehicle dynamics go read a book or download a free 2-D modeling program like Working Model. You can set up a full scale model of link bar lengths, amount of lift, and find axle rotation in 5 minutes. Its that easy.
