Just start off by. Built not bought is stupid. Now lets move from there
Shops are there for a reason. They, for the most part, have had extensive experience building vehicles. So you pay for the knowledge to have a truck built correctly. Bob Grant is a master at metal work. I don't see anyone talking shit to the owners of the rides he builds. Max at Bio, Cary at IF, Bill at Ekstensive, list goes on and on of shops that do sic work. That comes from years of experience. Most people that give grief dont have a ride that compares to any of the shops listed. So it seems like that phrase is more out of jealousy. But what it boils down to. It's your truck. Do what you want. Because unless you condensed the sand for the glass, made your tires, made the steel, created the paint, designed and manufactured all the parts for the vehicle.. you bought it.
I agree 100% also!!
I too agree!!I bought my truck and proud of it!!I bought one of my bestfriends truck who past away in 98. since his death,it was bagged by Steve Munson and IF has done a stock floor and the bed. two years ago I bought it from his parents. if not it would of been wrecked by someone who did not give a sh*t about it.
who cares! Just as long as you give credit were credit is due and its Built 2 Rail.
its like vag vs anal. either way u still gettin laid.
Built not bought guys are like a pack of Lemmings
when somebody ask me about my truck i tell them i bought it almost done and all i had done was the paint body and interrior, but i still know what all is done to the truck and everything but im not gona take credit and say i had all the work done, its just not how i roll, lol
I personally would never send my shit out to anyone. I dont trust that the work will get done properly. The only shit i sent out of the cutlass was the axle shortening and the first engine build (which was done really poorly and i ended up redoing myself). I also went to school for welding and autobody and have been wrenching for living since before i left high school. But most people havent been in the industry working and dont have the 20-40 g's in tools it takes to properly build a car/truck. Built not bought is a good saying if you know how to do the shit. But like someone else said it can be a bad saying cause people that dont know shit about building cars build unsafe stuff to get respect. I say as long as your not blowing your money on negative shit like drugs and such then its all good. Built or buy what you want just give credit to the guy who built it!! I say the the saying should be "build/buy it, to beat it" cause theres nothing worse then a ride that doesnt see the road and gets babied!!
