Just start off by. Built not bought is stupid. Now lets move from there

Shops are there for a reason. They, for the most part, have had extensive experience building vehicles. So you pay for the knowledge to have a truck built correctly. Bob Grant is a master at metal work. I don't see anyone talking shit to the owners of the rides he builds. Max at Bio, Cary at IF, Bill at Ekstensive, list goes on and on of shops that do sic work. That comes from years of experience. Most people that give grief dont have a ride that compares to any of the shops listed. So it seems like that phrase is more out of jealousy. But what it boils down to. It's your truck. Do what you want. Because unless you condensed the sand for the glass, made your tires, made the steel, created the paint, designed and manufactured all the parts for the vehicle.. you bought it.

I agree 100% also!!

everyone shoulda known how this was gonna turn out, guys that built their rides are gonna say built, guys that bought their rides are gonna say bought....ive always done my own work, i have the know how, and i enjoy it....but when its all said and done who gives a fuck as long as they are all pushing pebbles.....now i do belive that some rides can only be built by a shop, as exkstensive h2 for example...what minitrucker you know has that kind of money to put in a ride like that, i bet it has over 150 thousand in it....but its badd ass all the same and i enjoy lookin at em

its not about built vs bought, its about the attitude you bring with it.

That's really the bottom line. In the end, it doesn't matter who built it, as long as you enjoy it, and have a good attitude, both at shows and just out crusing...Damn straight.

buying a truck already done is not for me, but i have always said to go and buy the nicest truck you can find already done is the cheapest possible way to have a minitruck. I have seen many magazine quality, body dropped minis go for less than 8k. Just a nice set of wheels and tires is gunna take up a big chunk of that. If you dont take pride in doing the work yourself, or comming up with the ideas then you might as well just buy one.

This mentality is why our rides arent worth shit when were done with them. Who F'ing really cares. if its a beautiful ride, just appreciate it. This is why hot rods and classics accrue value and minitrucks decline in value. you dont see hot rod guys walking around saying "oh he bought that restored" they dont give a shit they can just appreciate a nice vehicle and leave it at that. its always the kids with the biggest pieces of shit that talk the most smack

There's a ton of finished trucks I'd love to buy. And I'd rock em everyday as my daily. And I wouldn't take credit for them.

It's like when people ask me if I did the work on my truck myself I'm not ashamed to tell them I had a shop do it for me the right way. Hell if I'm at a show and someone asks and the people who built it for me are there I always say "no he did"

If everyone built their own stuff, all these badass shops we all talk about would go under. One of my good friends sent off or had friends do 75% of all his work. But he was always there to grab some tools, grind, or sand. I consider his truck built because they were all his ideas, and he worked his ass off at his job to pay for it.
