This is a brief step by step build of a customers front end conversion that I did. Started this project about 10am this morning and finished at around five... Here she is... I did the conversion while Lost Cause did other misc body work on the truck..

she came in like this

The proper way to do a swap is to drill out all the spot welds and remove it as clean as possible... That is how I did it

With the support cleanly removed its time to prep the new/used 4 runner front

With all the old 4 runner metal removed from the core time to do some test fitting

Everything seated in place and temp screwed in to ensure proper alignment... no welding has been done at this point

At this point no welding has been done.. everything is set to make sure it sets perfect.. Final welding will be done this evening.. Some cutting has to be done to the hood to make it sit proper since this truck is bodied to the rocker.

great write up but IMO there isnt a need for the core support. i simply drilled new holes for the headlights n everythign sat flush once installed

Around the gas door where the filler plate would be was rusting and cracking bad... So we took it down to raw metal to see what we would find.. And here is what we found...

If your referring to the grill, headlights, bumper & valance then its the 92-95 model 4-runner.

I'm planning on this swap on my 84. I gotta replace a rusted to shit core support anyway so will that support fit in place as easy on an 84-88 bodystyle or what would be the best way to do that?
