solid lifter conversion

Ok. . So get the rocker arm assembly and cam out of a 2.0 and swap, right? ? Why cant you jus swap the end caps of the rocker assemblies? ? Or does it not work like that? ? haha idk. . I wanna get rid of my ticking, and am considering doin this if I cam get the parts for kinda cheap. .

How much work do you have to do on the timing after doing this swap also? ? ?

No, the 2.0/2.2 lifters and cam and completely diff from the 2.6. . . I didnt do a lifter swap but I still quietened my lifters on my old 2.2l. . I took a quart of trans fluid and poured it in my engine and let it idle in the driveway for about 30 minutes, then I drained the crankcase real good and filled it back up with 5w30 and 20% Lucas oil treatment. . I could barely hear the lifters! ! The oil treatment helped alot and the thinner oil made it easier for the pump to push it. . Whatever it was, it worked great and I didnt have to swap lifters! ! Maybe give it a try before you swap lifters around. .

i've done that before but after a while the tick comes back. oh well i guess i'll live with it till i blow the engine then i'll put a 929 3.0 v6 in the truck. that will solve a few problems.

So all 2.0 have solid lifters?

yes. if a 2.0 is ticking then somebody has either replaced with hydro lifters or they are not properly lashed.

Sweet, didn't know that. I guess I didn't do enough research after seeing countless posts about the ticking issue. Do you know the lash specs off hand?

Honestly it has been so long i do not remember. i wanna say .003 to .005 but simply cannot remember.

can i do this swap on my 84b2000 head ? if so what year head should i get to swap out of?
