been driving ddaily with my viair 380 since last october, so thats about 1 year

with electric compressors, good rules of thumb is to not run them over the max pressure, mount unsealed compressors where moisture and water will get to it, run 1 compressor every 5 gallons of air, try to not run the compressor upside down but rather right side up or sideways because the heatsink is meant to be on top for a reason since heat rises, and run a check valve if compressor doesnt come with one.

these will somewhat give you a longer lasting compressor, no matter which compressor you get. as long as you follow the specs and run it at or under the specs, any compressor will last, considering it isnt defective.

Viair compressors should be mounted in an upright position only. Lance martz yelled at me last summer for having my viair 350's mounted on their sides.

the viair 400s are pretty sweet, they have almost twice the cfm of a 450, but are 33% duty cycle, but duty cycles dont mean much, 100% is only at 72 degrees @ 100psi.
