Could you mount the bags on the straight bars and make it cantilever. Of course some beefin up of the bars is gonna take place. Just wanna see if it's possible and if anyone would recommend doing it. Thanks

absolutly Not. Due to the fact that the link has heims on both ends the bag will twist when aired up not to mention that those bars are not strong enough.

How can you justify that the bars arent strong enough? What are you basin your opinion on?

bad bad idea. You WILL bend them and the heim joint will probably shear off at the threads. It happen to me and I had to replace the bars with new poly bushing and beefy square bars. buy SD kit if you want to do this!

u mean a lever not a cantilever.

anyways, u could add some more structure to the bottom of the bars to strengthen the bars themselves. but i would go with a kit with bigger threaded rod ends, and not heims if u are going to go that route anyways.

I don't know if you have bought already or what you want to spend but this kit is fairly new from KP Components for your style of truck and would solve your problems. My friend runs this kit on his 88-98 chevy and has had no problems with it and gets 14" of lift. Just thought you might like to know.
