k well i have a 86 b2000 5spd and i want to transplant a 88 b2200 auto in but have my 5spd in there instead of the auto what do i need to do this?
you might ask russ d about it;but those tranny's are probably interchangable.
i think there is a valve on the carb that you will need probly the wire harness and ecu for the 88 and the auto tranny crossmember there differnt from the auto and 5 speed
post that question here
www.mazdatruckin.com I gurantee you will get an acurate and timely response there are a lot of knowledgeable people that frequent that site
you need everything from the auto truck, crossmember, driveshaft, tranny, flex plate, torque converter. Everything.
And it has to be a B2200 std to B2200 auto, a B2600i auto will not bolt up. I know you said 88 B2200 auto, I'm just mentioning it because the 2600i autos are more common and this thread may turn up in a search someday.
ok so i am getting the whole auto truck now my 5spd 86 b2000 tranny will bolt up to the 88 b2200 motor...This is all being put into the b2000 chasis...which ecu do i use and what parts from the auto do i need to use? thanks
There is also two brackets that bolt onto the block and go to the bell housing they are different on the to tranis

The ecu doesnt have anything to do with the tranny, its for the carb only. Hard to believe, I know, but my 87 auto trans B2200 ran and shifted perfectly after I ditched the ECU and factory carb for a weber. So did my nephews 88 B2200 auto when his dad installed a Rochester carb.
You'll need everything connected to the auto tranny, shifter, wiring, everything. The overdrive button is a lock OUT not a lock IN (meaning you can hook up the tranny without the button and it will still shift into overdrive) so if you want to make a custom shifter without a button you can.
Just curious why i would need the shifter, and wiring from the auto tranny when a 5spd manual is being put on instead? and also shouldn't i use the crossmember, driveshaft, tranny, flex plate, torque converter from the 5spd not the auto.
the 5spd manual trani is being bolted to the motor that had a auto trani on it just in case that wasnt clear earlyer
