But the funny thing in VA is that the unmarked police cars (white, grey or dark blue cars with antenna in the middle of the trunk) have tinted windows...LOL...Do they give each other tickets for that shit?

In florida, your rear windows, and back windows can be completley BLACKED OUT if you want. The front strip and driver and pass windows have to be 28% by law.
They have meters here, and will use them. I have experienced this.
I have also heard stories where they make you strip it on the spot, or took keys and scratched it all up. I have seen the aftermath of such activities. Not sure if that is legal, but they take more of our rights everyday.

Let me say first that in my earlier post, I was saying that I hope I had made the link to the article right. The tint laws vary from state to state. In VA, I think the law in 35% film can be used on the sides directly to the left and the right of the driver. The cops here have a device that clips onto your side windows when they are partially raised to measure the light that shows through. They really have no way to measure the rear windows, so they cannot really prove that it is too dark. Jail time is pure BS. Whats next? Jailtime for a burned out light???
In VA it is 55% on the driver and passanger window and 35% on rear and back glass and your front strip can not extend past the ASI line on your windshield and there are no docotrs excuses there either. Trust me i just mooved from VA beach and those cops are dick's. Tint laws are a regulated by the state government so all states are different. In WV its 35% on all windows for cars and trucks can have the very back glass as dark as you want. Its bull shit but what can you do. i think you can cantact LUMAR and they can give you the laws for any particular state.

true. But it is so funny when you go in the parking lot of the hillsborough county sherrif's office on falkenburg road how many cop cars have limo tint ALL the way around. I have seen it fist hand.

I'm sure the families of slain officers who were killed because they could not see inside a vehicle appreciate your comments...
Also keep in mind, its not like law enforcement woke up one day and said "let's piss off people with dark tint and make it illegal!" It is YOUR local and state politicians and government that makes the laws which cops get paid to enforce...

not to be a dick but here is some points... officers pull ppl over just for tinted windows so they r puttin themselves in danger b/c they don't have to... not like they pull every speeder over.. if someone is gonna shoot a cop they r gonna do it with or without tinted windows... its just common sense... but why not make a law that makes sense as in if you have a criminal recored your not allowed to or evn if you get pulled over and ur windows r tinted u have to roll down the front two.. there ya go problem solved... but then again politicians r asshats
ALSO when i got a tint ticket last year the officer who pulled me over told me he had tint but it wasn't as dark as mine. and the officer who wrote off the ticket also had tint... so how come they r above the law.. FUCK COPS.. sorry if they followed the rest of our laws then i may like them.. but they don't...
