i am about to put the compressor and tank and such together....my question is does it matter if my check valve goes before or after my water seperator...if there is any other ideas, the parts i got is the compressor, braided air line, check valve, and water seperator any information will help....thanks

Personally, I'd put it between the tank and water trap. That way maybe moisture is prevented from going through the check valve as well.. one less thing you worry about sticking, etc (since not all may be made for air AND water applications like some valves). Also, a reason why would be so you have all of your connections (compressor/water trap) on that end of the check valve because if there was ever a small leak anywhere on those, all it would leak is the air trapped between the check valve and compressor, none of your tanks air could leak around fitting connections for the trap. Hope that run-on sentence made some sense LOL

between the tank and compressor. Because the water trap is properly installed between the tank and the valves. If you put your trap before the tank you are only catching a small amount of the water, some will still condense in the tank after expanding and cooling. When was the last time you saw a water trap on a home compressor between the compressor and the tank?

put the valve on the tank itself...that way if you ever blow or melt your line you wont lose all of your tank pressure
