I was just wondering if anybody knows a site or possibly postem if you know them /yours.

(my cureent situation is the pistons 1(cracked),3,4(scared) appeared to have hit the head I know at some point in time someone has put a crank kit in (or reground it) my thougt is spun rod bearing but the rods plastic gage out @ .002 " and I would believe if they spun enough to hit the head the rods would have been gone.or the head was shaved to far @ some point in time

I know the heads are supposed to interchange but curiosity has got me on this one

My known casting numbers F8-1 ----- 86 B2000F8-14 ----- 88 & 89 B2200

Unknown Head from that engine is a F8-10, VIN says 88 B2200

as of know I am just going to be replacing all the pistons rods/new rings and use one of my F8-14 Heads on it should fix the smoke

wow. dude, your rods, bearings, or what ever you think they are, will never ever hit the head. just the thought of that is enough to just sit back and drink a5th of jack, and wonder what would happen if some day soome where in the galaxy that ectually did happen, i meen woah!!
anyways. my old b2000, had a b2200 head, umm circa 86-87, anyways, i have the block decked .020, and the head decked .020, because the crappy autozone head gaskets after torqued and checked would equal close to .040 thick. my point is, i had no problems, these litte 2.0, 2.2's liek some extra compression, so i gave it to it. your only problem your gunna run into is the crappy trannys. mazdas were never ment for power, and youll lose first or second gear. it sucks. trust me. if you can, get a 2600i truck, do the conversion, and keep your 2.0 or 2.2 rear end, those 2.6's like extra gear, and they make good power.. last for justa thought, ditch the whole entire b series engine, and get your self a turboed 13b.. you ll be soooooo much happier. close to 12 second qaurters (when traction and tuning are at its best) out of a 1.3liter motor..in a axcab truck!!!!!! jst my thoughts..

1991 B2200 F8-17
late 1990 B2200 F8-16
1989 and earlier roughly F8-14 and down.

I think I got a head here that is like F8-4E.

After checking out and cutting appart 6 different heads from years between 1986-1991 on B2200s, B2000, and 8v 626 the only difference I've been able to identify is the newer the head the better the casting. 1989 and earlier heads have lots of pitting and flash all over the place, especially in the ports, they also have more air pockets in the metal and more likly to overheat, warp, and crack,

Castings from 1990 and newer seem to be much smoother more dense and have less flash so they will be less likely to fail.
