Okay, how about this.....The hardest hitting sub is.....NONE!
This has gone on too long. Scott Owens could probably be just as loud with most any sub. It boils down to the design of the enclosure, vehicle, and power supplied to the woofer.
The thing that kills me is the guy with (2) Kicker L7 15" subwoofers in a "my friend built" box powered by a Phoenix Digital 2500 watt amp. IT IS NOT ALL ABOUT THE SUBWOOFER!!!! There is so much more that goes into LOUd than just the damn woofer.
Buy what you like, and be sure to have a PROFESSIONAL build the enclosure, and get a quality amp to match the quality sub you just purchased.
HOLLA!
go to realm of excursion and watch the dd 950015 out side the box in an open are room and maybe you'll go back on your word...
Go to Realm Of Excusrion and watch Aaron "Chili" Davis post a 169.XXdb about 4 years ago with 14 6"x9" speakers. You will understand my word.
Not all about the subs, engineering owns the woofer.

Truer words were never spoken.
for the money, either resonant engineering or inciminator audio. nothing like a 300 dollar pair of tens that hit like 2 Dub7's for an idea.

Jl audio w7's are crazy when they have the right power...Design is key of course, but with the right equipment and that is the key to loud...
I would have to say DD9517, RE Audio MT, or Kicker Solo Xs. They are straight nasty.
