that leaves out most of the people in here, as most grew up with spell check and cant spell many commonly used words.
plus using the words "there" or "their" just seem to confuse even more. then you get the guys that spell trailer with an o. there are a hundred commonly used words that are spelled incorrectly in here every day.

I understand that a word processing program would correct these mistakes but the root cause of the problem is what needs to be fixed. its simply that people cant spell. most kids today go to schools that dont spend enough time making sure that the kids can spell properly. and dont even get me started on sentences. I cant make a well structured sentence myself.

we have been forunate over the last several years to have guys working at our favorite magazines that are truck guys and actual minitruck owners. guys who grew up doing the same thing as us. getting dirty working on some beat up hooptie on the weekend instead of going out with the guys and getting wasted. lets just hope that the next batch of guys at the magazines we love are just as good or better than the ones that have recently left us.

I know when I start reading an article that seem to be written by a corporate mouthpiece I feel the life force draining out of me and slump over on my chair before I can finish the first couple paragraphs. Id rather read something I would believe one of mu buddies wrote about the real lifestyle that we all enjoy. good luck finding some good help. I still read MT cover to cover and will continue even though some of my favrorite guys are now gone.

I honestly doubt anyone on this website would meet these requirements.

I don't think people know what grammer is, let alone sentense structure, and creative writing.

And currently, much like emo music, everyone and their mother thinks they're a photographer thanks to the digital media wave. Posers.

Sounds like a dream job.

My problem is the polar opposite of others'. I write very well, but can't take decent photos to save my soul.

I can't help but wonder how common that is. Have you considered hiring TWO people? A writer AND a photographer?

Well said.LOL. I guess we should go ahead and terminate Mike,Mike, and Chad from Primedia? The editors of this online mag should just quit. Ok, whatever man. The last time I checked, theres a lot of talented people on here. Not all of us would make great editors for a magazine, but something tells me that there are quite a few that would.Sometimes our professions choose us,and sometimes its the other way around. College degree or not.Although I'm not a big fan of Sport Truck(its that MT bias thing), it would make excellent proving grounds to step up to something else if a spot at MT or your other favorite Primedia rag. Anyhow, my point is I think some of the guys and gals on here would make an excellent choice for that magazine. Simply because we suck at "grammer"(how about spelling?) doesn't imply we're idiots or incapable of being an editor. After all, we're only human and even editors aren't perfect examples of English composition maestros. Right? But then again, I didn't understand the emo music metaphor you were trying to use.

I dont think there is a shortage of people who have the qualities, I know of one ideal candidate personally who just joined SSM in the last week or so.

I do think there is a problem getting someone who has the skills to agree to what the job will ultimately pay.

I remember reading all the articles in MT that had misspellings or grammatical errors; this was way before Mike F came along, and even before Lance for that matter. Minitruckers kant speel.

Anyway, the point I was making, the people high on enthusiasm are usually short (really short) on skills and are even shorter on reliability. The people who have the skills want more to eat than 99 cent tacos 6 nights a week in return for working hard.

i bet all of those people you named joined this site AFTER they had achived some sort of position.

The emo music reference is based on my feelings towards live journal and myspace.

The b&w bathroom pix with sad faces and what-not.

naw, dude, i am a dashboard fan. I enjoy a good cry on the way to and from work. while i wear my sweat bands and take black and white pictures of my self.. being sad. then i usually eat a veggy taco, and fall-asleep listening to enya, thinking about the poor nigerian kids...

Duh.
