i was helping a friend bodydrop his 99 s-10 with the 4 banger in it. we did the body drop, tubbed the firewall. when we got to the wiring harness i had the idea to cut it from its location and move it up away from the front driver tire. his idea was to cut the entire harness, lengthen all the wires (75+ easy) and relocate them for cleance. all of them were labeled. but it came back to haunt us later. we got the engine to start for about 1.5 seconds and then it died. we tried everything that we could think of. one time it did fire. ran great. idle was fine, revved up fine. then after a min or so we shut it down. tried to start it up again and then it would run for 1.5 sec and then shut down. if it was my truck and i had the cash i wouldnt have hesitated to drop a 350 in it. he didnt have the cash or another vehicle to drive in the meantime. he moved to florida and last time i heard he got it runnin some how.

you want nightmares, try working on hood cars for a living. 7 speakers in the car half of them work, only 4 wires behind the dash, amps strung up like ornaments. And when you give it back to them with an attempt to work with the crap they have they yell at you saying that "their shit use to be bangin"

Damn I got lucky. I just got done doing the samething to my duallie. I moved the whole harness one wire at a time so I wouldnt get them crossed up. So far so good, but it was still a long nightmare.

well i have one for you. i relocated my battery behind my seat and one day i was coming home and one of the power wires that i extended was grounding out to that little fuse box that is located on the core support way at the bottom. All my guages were going hay wire and my truck stalled out. fried a bunch of fuses and my computer.
