I really wouldnt be worried about the law. just be worried about how much its going to hurt when your face smashes into it when you get in to a wreck...

Damn, now that had to hurt

I always wondered why you head got bigger after the accident.....lol j/p bro
While I was working at the body shop I had to replace many of damaged airbags and I have talked to many insurance adjusters about removing airbags. Some say it would probably be ok and some said if the car came with it , it needs to have one . Otherwise if you take it out and u get in a wreck and they dont see it when they come to see it, you might be fucked... Just call and ask is your best bet

I need to know this too.

I went to a local speed shop for a steering wheel and they wouldn't sell it to me because I have airbags. They also said no one sells the adaptors for airbags in North America. Anyone know the truth to this?

Man i got in a wreak with my bro in his civic we had all the airbags + the dash removed, the cops and insurance didnot say anything that I know of. So I say get a wheel man. Also if you have ever been hit by an airbag, that shit hurts, and I mean hurts!

THEY SELL ADAPTERS FOR NEARLY EVERY STEERING HUB. YEP, EVEN BRAND NEW ONES THAT COME FACTORY W AIRBAGS. HECK YOU CAN GO TO PEP BOYS AND GET TONS OF ADAPTERS FOR NORMALLY AIRBAG EQUIPPED VEHICLES. SOME COMPANIES EVEN SELL ECU FAULTERS THAT KEEP YOUR SRS LIGHT FROM COMING ON EVEN THOUGH YOU'VE REPLACED THE AIRBAG STEERING WHEEL WITH AN AFTERMARKET ONE. ALL IN NORTH AMERICA/U.S. WHATEVER SHOP TOLD YOU THAT CRAP, I'D THINK A BIT LESS OF NOW.

i dont know about the legality but a shop i worked at the guy took out the airbag wheel and put in an aftermarket one in the truck the winshield was craked, steering wheel buckled, rear view mirror smashed off, somewhere in that his head shoulder and wrist came in contact with that stuff, there was blood everywhere.

then again airbags are violent too.

if i had an airbag wheel i wouldnt take it off, but then again id never build a newer truck i like the old shyte.

I had mine taken off by a body shop. I was told if anyone ask you did it yourself. I had mine for 3 years and never had a problem. The only people that freaked out was the dealership because it was a brand new vehicle when I took it in for service they saw it. They said your not allowed to do that and I asked why. But they could not give me a reason. They said long as you did it yourself it is your vehicle and your deal.
