Need some advice on building a bedfloor!

I am gonna start sheetmetalling my bed tonight, what guage sheetmetal should I use? I'm getting ready to run down to buy my steel in a few.. Any sugestions/comments welcome, Thanks!

I use 16 ga,some use 18 ga...

yeah I would go with 16
alot less worry about warping and easier to finish and make smooth

i used 14 guage on a bed and it was really strong, didnt go to well with the stock sheetmetal thickness, burning holes in the bedside while barely heating up the sheetmetal sides, use a 16, for strength purposes, 18 would be best but 16 is much more sturdy

i used 18 and it was more than enuff but i went over the stock floor after i bodydropped it

I used 10 but i cut out my floor completely ... still over did it .. but oh well, its really not heavy, 2 people can pick it up and put it on
