What is the difference in a 1990 22r 2wd and an '87 22r 4wd. The motors won't swap straight up will they?
yes. block, head timing cover etc should be direct replacement. all the other stuff will have to be reused, just like any motor replacement.
i forgot i meant will they attach to the stock 4spd tranny i have
crank and block are the same. use the flywheel that goes with the tranny, 2wd goes w/ 2wd, 4wd goes w/ 4wd.
there is no differance in flywheels. intake port is differant on efi.
wrong. 4x4 flywheel is not the same as 2wd. 4x4 is heavier. not the same. they dont have different part numbers just to confuse us...
really? I've swapped between the two and never noticed a differance
so i could use the other motor for parts and they should all fit my 22r?
but would the 87' 4x4 block bolt up to my '90 2wd 4spd, tranny
