pro's & con's of YORK

I'm switching to a york over a shame industries sanden. Anybody have a your york, good things about, it bad things about it. how often they have to be oiled. any info is good info.

There is nothing but good things to say about a york! I put oil in mine about once a month.

i got a york 210 with rotolock and got my fittings from kilby ent. when i tighten them all the way the top of the fitting is still lose. anybody got anything on that.

maybe try a tappered fitting?

the tech at kilby said they are supose to be like that. i guess i just have to find out this weekend, when i hook it up.

hmm, not sure on what kind they are using, but mine are tight, did u put a o-ring in there?

I bought bolts that were 1/4" longer and they tightened up the fitting on the top end. Also be sure to use the sleeve and o-ring.

york compressors are great i have used them on every truck i have built...i use the your 210 model.......no at autozone you can get a york for 80$ and someone on here what the part number is......yorks spit out a lot of oil....so the bigger the water trap the better. the spit out oil stinks horribly. if you need a serpintine clutch for your york the only place your gonna get it is at onboardair.com..you can get the fittings on that site too but i think they are overpriced..you can go to lowes and get a flare fitting adapter and they work pretty damn good. i use a little filter that the import racers use for their oil crankcase to filter in the air..............i put the york oil mod on my compressors to stop most of the oil spit associated with the yorks...its a pretty easy task but you have to watch exactly how you took the pieces out...it stopped oil spit dramatically. they website that gives you instructions on how to do this mod is http://www.jedi.com/obiwan/jeep/york_oilmod.html i wouldnt sugguest going above 200 psi with the units either

i'm new to engine driven compressors and i was wondering what has to be changed if anything on a york to make it work for air

don't have to change anything, but there is a screw u can add to help keep oil in the compressor. I'll see if I can find out where that was...
