Ok ive pretty much made up my mind that im gonna swap my engine, so the swap with the most appeal is the kia swap. I know some of you dont agree with this, but 148 hp and 140ft/lbs torque with darn near 30 mpg is pretty alluring. So i started researching, that engine is the same as the mazda fe3 for all practical purposes(or close enough to say it is) so i know i need the engine and ecu, i realize that is a lot of wiring and i plan to devote all the time i can within one month to do it. so the engine has the same mounting as the stock 2.2 and all the accessories are on the same sides. So mounting im good, i can keep my power brakes and the engine bolts up to the stock tranny. I know the tranny and rear end arent the strongest but oddball racing is running a built and boosted kia motor on them with no problems yet so i figure on a stock kia they should last for a while. Then comes the Fuel injection i know i need a new fuel pump lines, etc. so im going with a fuel cell. Now is there anything i overlooked?
I need: Engine complete with harness and ECU
Fuel cell with new pump and lines
miscellaneous hardware to put it all together.
and gauges to keep tabs on it all
Any thing else?
Just to explain a little more why i am so interested in this swap, i figure the power and mileage are good for now and if i decide to later, i can stroke it with a truck crank and bore it with high comp pistons and have a mean little near 200hp with a few other mods. OR i could rebuild and boost it, or go all out and stroke, bore, and boost. so i like the built in head room, and there are only like 3 or so people i know are trying this and only 1 i know of done. cant beat the mileage either, im not sure but i think it is near 30, anyway it is above 20. Also there is a 170hp 160lb/ft torque version that i just need to find (: Thanks, thats my book. lol

anthing anyone can think of, doesnt have to pertain to this swap in particular, just things in general.

you wouldn't even need a fuel pump. If it's got the same head, you could even stick your mechanical pump in the head. If not, you could run an inline fuel pump as to rid you of the need for a fuel cell.

Its not, the Kia motor is a twin cam head on the Mazda F block. Fuel injected, he'll need a high pressure pump. MadLowMazda has some pictures of his Kia swap that is under conctruction, He is doing something special with the intake to keep it low and using a stock mazda tank with a stock 2600i intank pump.
He is a cool guy, I've met him, and I cant wait to see his truck finished.

I thought about doing the 2600i fuel pump thing but i want to convert from air shrouded injectors to bigger conventional injectors later, so by going with the fuel cell i add more weight behind the axle and im gonna try and pick up something like a supra or 3000gt fuel pump to handle the demands, might just go inline to save trouble though. I have all the fe3 wiring diagrams thanks though, Im just outside of Orlando FL

use the in-take pump for an 93 b2200 with fuel injection that will have more than enough psi shop manual says specs should be 38-46 psi I think that would be the easiest
